Poster analysis

When designing the poster we kept it minimal, compared to other posters, but our poster provides a lot of enigmas that would confuse the general audience, but people who like to dissect what posters are trying to convey can have a simple understanding of what our film is about, the first clue that would give the audience an idea about our film is the character in the middle of the poster, we also have faded to black around the character this character is the villain of our film, but the audience wont know that yet but linking to a creepy and mystery vibe we used the colour black to give hints to our audience.
Near the bottom of the poster we have the hero and villains names placed, this gives us an idea who acting in our film and where the names are placed acts like they are the opposite, which is true since one is a hero and the other is the villain.

Media conventions of real media

How have you improved your conventions of real media texts?
AS Film Production
Editing
In our film production editing we used adobe premier where we are presented with multiple features a feature we used in our media production is a black and white feature which we used for our films production company, I did this because we wanted our production company to conform our film genre Thriller and horror.

#9 editing and camera analysis

editing
we used multiple different and unique programs to put together our film trailer, we used the recommended adobe premier elements and also adobe after effected, we used adobe after effects to create all the green screen special effects, like the UFO, aliens and the helicopter crash, we looked into tutorials that would teach us on how to import the effects into other programs and how to put a scene and a special effect together, using the special effects were very important to us because without it the sci-fi genre for our film trailer wound't exist, because all of the sci-fi in our film were made using adobe after effects and some help from YouTube, the zombies has very little link to sci-fi but links to our horror genre, we could of used editing to make our zombie look realistic but we were under a time limited and could not complete the special effects for these scenes.

Camera
In our film trailer we used camera extremely effect as we needed to express our film genres, sci-fi genre was very easy to express through camera, in our film trailer we have a UFO up high in the sky this is effective because we the audience have to look up at the UFO making us feel weak, and this gives power to the UFO or to the aliens in the UFO. we also have establishing shots of the aliens, which suggests that this is the start of the film trailer and suggests that this is normal, we also have horror in our film which is also easy to express through camera, we have our villain the zombies attacking a human, we used over the shoulder shots and also a close up shot to show off the details of the zombie make up we have used.

#10 feedback and response

we had to create a small presentation about our film trailer, we had our class watch our film trailer and they would need to comment on camera, sound, editing, mise-en-scene for our film trailer, we received a lot of praise on the sound and the camera shots, sound was extremely good because of how it built up tension, but we did also receive some negative comments on sound in some aspects, like near to the end of our film trailer we have our villain create a sound that shouldn't be heared, we decided to quickly fix this issue by removing the sound and fixing it by adding the tension building sound. we had some negative comments on mise-en-scene where it was extremely obvious that we used the same character but for different roles, this issue could not be fixed as we were limited by time and also people.

In the presentation we have included the best work we have accomplished over the past months we talked about unique selling points and what made our film trailer unique compared to other similer horror and sci-fi trailers.
